Top Picture is the Watertown site where we live.  This was taken a few weeks ago and now there is almost no snow.  The bottom picture is the replica of the Smith home near Palmyra.  The Grove can be seen in the background.,

Just a few pictures from around the area.  The 1st is the Black River which runs through town.  Also one on the interesting colonial style homes in the area and the entrance to the North Pole near Lake Placid.

Lake Placid New York

We went to Lake Placid, home of the 1980 Winter Olympics, to visit with Elder and Sister Miskin from Rigby.  Had a great day as they showed us around.  Pictures show the hockey rink where the "Miracle on Ice" happened when the US defeated Russia for the Gold medal.  Also other Olympic sites.

Peter Whitmer Jr Home

This is the Whitmer home where the church was organized on 6 Apr 1830.

Sacred Grove Oldest Tree and Palmyra Temple from the Joseph Smith Farm

Spring is arriving

The snow is almost gone.  Expected to get up to 60 degrees next week. We are doing very well and enjoying out experience.  We visited the Peter Whitmer home site on 6 Apr, 185 years since the church was organized. A very special place.  We then went to the Grandin press in Palmyra, NY where the 1st Book of Mormon was printed.  5000 copies.  It took longer to bind the books than it did to print them.  Then we went to the Sacred Grove and the Joseph Smith farm etc.  Always a sweet experience to be there.  Well I will try to update this Blog more often.
